January 20, 2104: Quantum Key West 2014 kicked off slowly today with barely enough breeze to sail. In fact, the nearly 60-boat J/70 fleet couldn’t find enough wind to race, while divisions 1 and 3 paraded slowly around the buoys. We made the best of the sunny yet otherwise unimpressive day by taking a few wide-angle shots with our underwater housing. We’re looking forward to some great action throughout the rest of the week!

January 21, 2014: We saw it all today: rain, heavy wind, light wind and sun, as a front came through. Getting soaked in the squalls that rolled across the courses was tolerable in exchange for the black clouds that provided a great background for some of our photos.

January 22, 2014: Every class sailed 3 races today in up-and-down wind in the teens with bright sunshine playing popping in and out from behind clouds. It was a great catch-up day for racing and a pretty good day for photos.

January 23, 2014: Today = Yesterday – Clouds. (That’s a minus sign). Though the wind was farther east today and started off a bit stronger, today was pretty much a sunnier repeat of yesterday. All classes enjoyed 3 races in good conditions.

January 24, 2014: These are the conditions we’ve been waiting for! The 20-25 knots kept bows popping up out of the water nicely to get their photos taken. Quantum Key West 2014 went out with a bang!
